Tradition in modern times
Our Lifestyle
The tradition of the Durmitor region consists of a set of material and spiritual values,
as well as patterns of behavior that the Durmitors created during their existence,
and which is passed down from generation to generation,
in order to achieve its continuity and preserve its identity.

Durmitor house
Life on the mountain has always been difficult, filled with work and sacrifices. At this altitude,
the winters are long, lasting half a year; our ancestors were engaged in farming and wood exploitation.
Today, life is much simpler, but we have preserved our traditions and customs. Although our main occupation is tourism, we all still deal with woodworking and food production. Our elders are still respected, and we look upon our neighbors and well-intentioned guests as our closest relatives.
The harsh conditions of life on a high mountain taught us mutual respect and respect for other people's needs. That is why no Durmitor will do to another what he would not want to happen to him.
Guests who come to us from different parts of the world are often surprised by our philosophy of life, but they accept it very quickly, and always return to us.
